Nigeria – Victim of western exploitation

While the western mass-media was busy covering the Hindutva-Israel collaboration behind the latest terrorist attacks in Mumbai (India) – a new ethno-religious erupted in Nigeria – resulting in death of more than 200 Muslims at the hands of rival Christians.

Nigeria is the most populous (over 150 million) and largest oil producing country in Africa (in fact it produces more oil than Iraq and Kuwait put together) with second largest economy. Nigeria is also America’s 5th largest oil supplier. The companies which control most of Nigerian oil production are Chevron and Shell.

Islam came to this region in the 11th century. In 1810 CE, Usman Dan Fodio established Sokoto Sultanate. This Islamic state extended from Orthwest Nigeria to Northwest Cameroon, which lasted till the western colonialist ran over it.

Since its independence on October 1, 1960 – Nigeria has been a battle-ground between Muslim (51%), Christian and Indigenous Pagan population. Since October, 1999, when 12 northern states, predominated by Muslims, established Islamic Shari’ah law – the clashes have resulted in the death of more than 8,000 people and some over 20,000 have been displaced.

On January 15, 1966 – Nigeria’s first prime minister, Alhaj Sir Abubakar Tafawa Blewa (also known as the Father of Nation), and Sokoto chief minister, Sir Ahmadu Bello, both Islamists, were assassinated by Christian military junta along with pro-government high military officials.

On May 30, 1967, Christian-majority region of Baifra declared its independence from central government, which lasted for 32 months. Israel, France, Portugal, Rhodesia, South Africa, and Vatican provided military and moral assistance to the rebel government. 

Nigeria has the largest number of Israeli nationals (15,000) in Africa in addition to the local African Jews, whowere patronized by western colonialists along with the local Christians. Majority of them work for Israelicompanies operating in oil, construction and fishing. The country also have diplomatic relations with Zionist entity, which it ruptured in 1973 as member of OAU. Nigeria has been supplying 80% of Israel’s oil imports (previous met by Iran under Shah’s regime) – in return for sale of American arms aid to Israel by Washington.
